And you are assuming the corporation and its shareholders are willing to take 20% price cut. They are not and have not when tariffs have been imposed in the past.

So far tariffs are in place and our prices have not gone up.
Also not in my dreams. Have you seen the executive orders the president is signing. This reality. Have you even read the orders the new president has been putting through?
No im assuming they are willing to take a 10% price cut. No idea where you got 20% from? The tariff is 10%. Its already in place and I havent seen a general increase in prices by 10% so far.
And they will take it because if one does then they all have to. Because its a highly competitive market where these companies are competing on price.
Price elastic markets are ripe for tariffs. Its a good idea. You dont have to be a republican (and I am not one) to believe so.
What? While part of that is true, can you name how many pieces of electronics we can buy NOT coming from China. There is no new competition if everyone is paying the same tariff price increase regardless of manufacturer.

Sure. Have you not heard of the factories in South Korea, Taiwan, India, Thailand? Not everything comes from China. In fact one of the bestselling products in the USA - the iPhone is made in India and has been since 2017 and they have just come to an agreement with the US government.
And I think you are wrong. I think these tariffs are quite smart. Most manufacturers can't afford to lose or increase prices on the US market. They need the US more than the US needs them. But time will tell. If we see major increases in electronic pricing in the USA, I will happily eat my words. I dont think anyone can really know how this gamble will play out. But so far we have seen a lot of world leaders cave under pressure of Trumps tariffs.
You are forgetting about parts. Many come from China.
Prices will go up. Not soon hopefully, but they will.
Well, just anticipation of tariffs from the free market caused a spike in inflation.

And Trump is over-stepping his authority still, and yet again. Federal Taxes were authorized by the 16th amendment to the US constitution. No executive order by any president from any party is constitutionally capable of changing the constitution in the US. So Trump is, once again, putting the cart before the horse. Its nothing new for him to think that he is King of the US and everyone has to obey him.
If Trump truly wants to get the income tax removed rather than be a
stain on the country and the rest of the world, he should be proposing a constitutional amendment that congress, and then the states could or would adopt. Its the only way it will happen, not by some Trumpian stroke of the The Great Pumpkin's pen. Tariffs will never accomplish this if it is truly a goal of his.
Except potential impeachment - perhaps even from his own party. His EOs are effecting even red states. For instance, Trump's EO on Green Energy will hurt Texas that has recently become the leading, yes you read that right, Green Energy state.
And this is not the only EO hurting Red states.
That's what happens when a president spouts lies to get elected - as you and I well know.

That has NOTHING to do with Trump. The US Government funded it self with Tariffs WAY before income taxes. Learn your history.
Which was superseded by the 16th amendment to the constitution. Trump, himself, has no power to change that. Perhaps you should take your own advice.
