Kingdom Come: Deliverance II GPU Benchmark

Optimization? With performance like that on an XTX?

Tim is awfully silent over this one since this is an Nvidia sponsored title. It is fine when Nvidia is crippling performance for AMD, but not the contrary.

It is not like when EVIL AMD was ALLEGEDLY preventing DLSS for being implemented into Starfield... on that note, Tim went banana`s...

We need a hero to back in time and prevent Nvidia from adding RT to their cards.
One mission to save us from poorly running games.

I get 120+ Fps 1440p on my 7900xtx on Ultra with upscaling. Not sure what this 88fps stuff is all about.

Oh you’re absolutely correct on RT, it’s almost never worth the performance trade-off. Even if I had the performance bandwidth to spare I would likely spend that on resolution or high frame rates over RT.

why movies don't look the same anymore

just throwing more this or that or wow -does not make a better presentation
One of the comments from this was that 14 stop plus movies are FN hard to get right and expensive post productions as huge gradient and more to balance to feel just right

Most masterpieces of any nature are just as important for what they LEAVE out - you see someone raving how wonderful a "Chef" they are and they throw 40 ingredients in everything. Good cooks will use mostly 3 with some small highlight enhancers .
You would be hard to name one world class painting where it has everything for WOW factor

here's one of those BS deeply profound statements ( that has some truth ) - sometimes less is more

easy to make up , just take opposites - sometimes you have to go into the dark to see the light
that's boring how about sometimes you have to viciously kill to vibrantly live :)

Ultimately, this means Kingdom Come: Deliverance II isn't going to win any awards for best graphics – not by a long shot
For me at least, it often seems that a game with very good graphics that can be cranked up on
fairly modest hardware is still better than a game that is considered a graphics showcase that needs to have the graphics turned way down to make them playable.

Van Gogh’s Starry Night is one of the many examples of world class paintings on which every square inch is wondrous to explore closely.

But I get what you’re saying and I agree with it, even though this association you’ve maid doesn’t work as well as you think.

great painting, I prefer Irises to any of the Sunflowers.
But still very selective in number of colours and his signature swirl 3D style.
I'm not a art critic even the flows one of the essential parts of this painting all makes sense with an emphasis to the right with the bright moon pushing against it

I thought someone might mention a Pollack painting being an exception - seems just a horrible mess at first glance - but there is a lot of symmetry and elegant mathematics in them

I did that test- famous artists or kids art and nearly scored perfect - probably from visiting a lot of museums in my travels .Obviously didn't use incredible portraits of Rembrandt or the wonderful curves of a Caravaggio . Matisse Dancers would be too easy or Munches' scream

Remember someone telling me how to have your 5 year old make great art - give them just 3 colours , tell them they have 20 minutes , take it off them after 5 minutes and put in an expensive frame

I don't know what happened when he benchmarked rx 6700 xt since I'm getting 65 to 75 fps on ultra settings with 2 option high on 2k with fsr quality, its maybe because I'm running the game on linux.

You really have a point there: most games nowadays in low or mid range cards run either great but the graphics are good OR they look great but they run awfully, so you have to change to "low" on graphics and then they look even worse than the others that are simpler.

The benefits are only on high end GPUs (>800€ cards) and curiously the way Nvidia likes to sell their cards.

Even on the 4080 up to the 5090 people have to use DLSS in order to benefit from RT as it should be. People spend more time seeing how well their cats run a game than playing the game itself!!! Something is wrong...

1440p ultra, no upscaling and an RTX4070 hits that 60FPS minimum. 4K you need an RTX4080 to get 60FPS, with maybe a setting tweak.

It's only my estimation but for me that's about right for a 2025 game release. At 1080p there's plenty of room for cards 3-4 years old. RTX3060 does fine with the high preset before you even need to look at DLSS. 62FPS minimum. Well done to the developer.

"We really do wonder how many gamers actually care about that. " I care 0%. Same for the de-resolution techs paraded like the Emporer's New Clothes, (DLSS,FSR etc.)

Wait...

I understand it's a GPU test, but there isn't a single spec/link to the hardware (mobo/mem-timings) that these GPU's were tested at/on..!

Or for example, was SmartAccess Memory even enable in Adrenalin for example, etc?

The community needs to reproduce these results.

Here's the thing, RT wouldn't have as big an impact as it does with a game like CP2077 anyway. Just like what happened when it was added to Witcher 3. Urban settings have a lot more reflective surfaces so you'll notice RT more in those environments. In the end the fact is graphics will always take a back seat to immersive game play. I long for the time when developers had to get really creative to wow us with the graphics, instead of just using something from a established "feature" set. That IMHO was the golden age of video games...

Frankly I'm surprised this made the front header of benchmark news. I played it for about 20 minutes and honestly, the character models are ugly. The heads aren't shaped correctly at all, the textures aren't that detailed...they look like models from a 5-6 year old game..

The landscape + terrain however is nicely done (where cryengine shines)...but just doesn't blend with the human elements... its like putting mario64 model into Crysis rendered world...just doesn't fit.

Great game and it runs excellent.
Almost never crashes.

I have 10900K, 3090, ASUS Apex MB I couldn't get the new COD to run at all.
I have numerous other CODs on my system that run, most recent BO cold war. The latest wouldn't play at all.
Finally got stalker 2 running well. New Indiana Jones runs but crashes lots.
